An introduction to Verbago
Hi, we’re Verbago!
Our story started with one little magic boy who couldn’t yet tell us how he felt, what he wanted, or what made him smile. We created Verbago two years ago with one goal: to give our little boy a voice.
As parents, we tried so many AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices and apps. We were grateful for the support from amazing professionals along the way, but we kept hitting the same hurdles. All the tools we found were outdated, confusing, and just didn’t relate for our son.
He takes things very literally. So when an app showed a stick man or a random brown rectangle for “chocolate,” he just couldn’t connect the dots. For him, chocolate is the purple packet — it’s his version of the world. That’s when it clicked for us: the problem wasn’t him understanding the app, it was the app not understanding him.
So, as a family, we set out on a mission.
With my husband being a software engineer, we decided to build an app that would truly empower our little boy; one that celebrated his world, his visuals, and his voice.

Built from Love and Understanding
Verbago is an AAC app designed to be as unique as your child. Every board, every image, every voice — it’s all customisable to reflect their world.
You can upload real-life photos — their favourite toy, their bed, Grandma, or that magic purple chocolate bar and our illustration engine turns them into beautiful, storybook-style illustrations that are fun and familiar. The visuals are playful and characterful, designed to bring joy and help your child make those literal connections that mean so much.
When something feels familiar, it feels safe. And when it feels safe, communication begins.
Created by Parents, for Parents
We’ve lived this journey! The daily routines, the meltdowns, the small wins that mean everything. That’s why Verbago is built with real families in mind.
You can organise your boards however suits your child best: people, places, routines, emotions, foods, drinks; whatever makes sense for your day-to-day. You can even hide items temporarily, so when your little one asks to go to the park at 9pm, the app only shows what’s available right now. This was designed to prevent confusion, disappointment, and those heart-breaking meltdowns.
No one knows your child like you do, and Verbago gives you full control to tailor every part of their communication experience.

The Magic of Familiar Voices
And then there’s the part that means the most to us, the voice cloning system.
When you set up your child’s profile, you can record a few short sentences, and Verbago will generate an entire voice library that sounds just like you or any loved one they adore. Their communication board can quite literally speak with your voice.
Our dreams came when, for the first time our little boy clicked “Night-night” and “I love you” and we heard it back, it was magic!
That moment made every challenge, every late night, and every line of code we have spent the past year building worth it.
Because for our children, their safe place is our voice. To be able to give them that, to let them express love, joy, and belonging in a voice that feels like home, that’s what Verbago is all about.

Our Promise
Verbago isn’t just an app. It’s a family-built mission to give every child the confidence, empowerment, and joy that comes from being understood.
Whether your little one is autistic, non-verbal, or simply unique in their own way, they deserve a way to communicate that feels like them.
We’ve built Verbago from love, lived experience, and a deep understanding of what families like ours need. And we can’t wait to see where your journey takes you, too.
Let our journey together begin, the waitlist is now open!
